Meet Trixie!
Trixie initially came to WCAS in March of 2022 as a stray and was never reclaimed by an owner. A couple of weeks after her arrival, Trixie was adopted; however, a little over two years after she left WCAS, she found herself back at our facility due to her adopter citing landlord issues. Trixie was soon adopted, but a month after leaving Trixie was back at WCAS as the result of a bite incident. At the end of her quarantine timeframe, our team worked with Trixie and shared that they did an extensive dog intro and temperament test with Trixie and another dog, which went great. They shared that Trixie was a little nervous at first, but after some time she opened up and was relaxed and wagging her tail and friendly with the other dog. Staff felt all over her body and handled her mouth and ears with no reaction. Staff did note that she does not like her toes being handled but did not react aggressively.
After almost 2 months of eagerly awaiting for adoption, Trixie was adopted; however, less than 2 days after being adopted, she was returned to WCAS due to her adopters citing that she didn't get along with the animals in the home.
Trixie is now looking for a family to get back to and love forever. She can't wait to meet you, so come to the shelter during our open hours and meet Trixie and other pets ready to find new homes.
