Rufio initially came to us as a stray in mid-October of last year and was never reclaimed by an owner. During that time Rufio was part of one of our playgroups where staff noted that Rufio is a bit of a play yard bully. He likes to be the fun police and not allow play to happen. He inserts himself and can escalate situation. As time went on, he started to play with others, but he still would police the yard.
Rufio spent the next 3 and half months with us at WCAS, and was adopted; however, Rufio was returned due to his adopters citing that Rufio experiences separation anxiety when left alone which resulted in the cats in the home being stressed out.
Help us get to know Rufio by meeting with him and seeing if they are the right fit for your family! He can't wait to meet you, so come to the shelter during our open hours and meet Rufio and other pets ready to find new homes. Upon Rufio's return to the shelter, our team worked with Rufio and shared that he showed adverse reaction to being handled or touched. The noted that Rufio will need to have stimulation in the home as he is an energetic dog. Our team is requiring a Meet & Greet with all household dogs for those interested in adopting Rufio.
