Meet Buddy!
Buddy is an 8-year-old, 53-pound gentleman who's looking for a fresh start with a family to call his own.
Buddy came to Winnebago County Animal Services after his owners made the difficult decision to surrender him due to a loss of housing. While this unexpected change has turned his world upside down, Buddy is taking it all in stride and is ready to find a loving home where he can settle in for good.
During his time at the shelter, Buddy successfully completed a dog introduction with another dog. Staff noted that he was calm and relaxed throughout the interaction. After exchanging a few friendly hellos, the two dogs spent their time exploring the play yard together on dropped leashes. Buddy maintained relaxed body language and showed no signs of aggression or discomfort, demonstrating polite and appropriate social skills.
At 8 years old, Buddy has reached a wonderful stage of life where he can appreciate the simple things-spending time with his people, enjoying leisurely walks, and relaxing in the comfort of home. He's hoping to find a family that will give him the love, stability, and commitment he deserves.
